Part-Time Job Positions
West Seneca Youth & Recreation is continuously collecting applications for the following part-time positions:
Recreation Attendant PT ($15.00-16.50/hour)
Recreation Attendants help support our many amazing youth programs in the Community Center Gym. These programs can include basketball clinics, art programs, open gym, summer fun (half-day camp), and more! This is a part-time entry-level position with shifts that range between 4-6 hours long. Applicants can be as young as 16 years old.
Preference given to those with a valid First Aid & CPR (must contain First Aid & CPR).
Recreation Leader PT ($20.00-$22.00/hour)
Work in this position involves acting as a program leader for an assigned program, including but not limited to, developing, planning, organizing, and implementing seasonal or year-round recreation programs. Recreation Leaders ensure safety at the program, ensure all department procedures and policies are followed at the program, and oversee the program, employees, etc. This position is in a highly active indoor or outdoor role. This position allows you to build different skills, have an impact on our community, assist others and provide positive youth development opportunities. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have experience in conducting recreational activities and have a valid First Aid & CPR (must contain First Aid & CPR).
Lifeguard PT ($16.00 - $16.50/hour)
Lifeguards actively monitor pool patrons for safety and enforce rules, respond to emergencies as needed, maintain a clean and inviting pool environment, provide excellent customer service to all guests and additional duties as assigned.
Required: 15 years of age or older, valid Lifeguard Certification for a Level 11a pool, valid CPR certification. Information regarding accepted certifications can be found on the NYSDOH factsheets listed by certification type, see section below regarding Factsheets.
Lifeguard Swim Instructor PT ($17.00 - $17.50/hour)
Plan & instruct swim lessons. Lifeguards actively monitor pool patrons for safety and enforce rules, respond to emergencies as needed, maintain a clean and inviting pool environment, provide excellent customer service to all guests and additional duties as assigned.
Required: 16 years of age or older, valid Lifeguard Certification for a Level 11a pool, valid CPR certification, valid Progressive Swimming Instructor. Supervising Lifeguards PT
Pool Supervisor ($27.00/hour), Assistant Pool Supervisors ($20.00 - $20.50), Head Lifeguards ($18.00 - $18.50/hour)
Supervising Lifeguards ensure the safety and wellbeing of pool patrons, maintain an orderly pool environment, provide excellent customer service, oversee pool operations as needed, oversee aquatics staff, ensure NYSDOH Pool Safety plan is followed, fulfill the duties of a Supervising Guard as outlined in the NYSDOH pool safety plan and additional duties as assigned.
Required: 18 years of age or older, Minimum of 2 seasons lifeguard experience, valid Lifeguard Certification for a Level 11b pool, valid CPR Certification. Preferred: Valid Progressive Swimming Instructor certification.

The hours per each position vary and are based on departmental needs. Employees could be assigned to the department’s office, youth programs, adult programs, and/or special events.

Please note that the department will not run any program without a Recreation Leader and at least one Recreation Attendant (this number could increase depending on the program).
