Teen Volunteer Program - Application

The Teen Volunteer Program is for youth in grades 9–12 who want to give back to the community, build leadership skills, and gain volunteer experience while assisting with West Seneca Recreation programs and events.

Program Details

• Open to Residents and Non-Residents
• No fee to participate
• All positions are unpaid
• Membership is valid January 1–December 31
• Participants must re-register each year (registration opens in December)

Volunteer Opportunities

Opportunities are announced throughout the year by email. There is no minimum or maximum volunteer hour requirement. Activities may be indoors or outdoors and may involve active participation.

Participant Expectations

Volunteers are expected to:

• Sign up and cancel opportunities on their own
• Communicate directly with staff
• Keep cell phones put away during activities
• Follow the dress code provided for each event
• Demonstrate respectful and responsible behavior

Parent/Guardian Information

This program is designed to build independence and job-readiness skills. Staff will communicate directly with participants rather than parents/guardians.

Removal from the Program

Participants who do not follow program expectations may be removed from an event or dismissed from the program. Dismissal may be permanent depending on the situation.
